This is an excellent and simplified version of the classic Chinese Linking Rings trick.

Three individual pieces of rope are tied into loops, the magician then proceeds to link and unlink the loops with ease.  All three loops are clearly shown to be linked in a chain, yet with a flourish they're counted individually once again.
